On Saturday 3 February, the city will host the Art City White Night, numerous special events to promote art in all its forms in art galleries, exhibition spaces, historical buildings and shops open until midnight. Bologna Art Week is an unmissable opportunity to meet internationally renowned young artists, attend live performances and admire works from all over the world.
Marca Corona continues its journey with contemporary art and the promotion of young emerging artists, renewing its presence in Bologna in one of the city’s most iconic artistic venues: the former Church Theatre San Leonardo, located inside an ancient monastery complex in the heart of Bologna’s historical centre will be the setting for the story of the 2023-2024 edition of Marca Corona per l’Arte.
Open Work: Stefano Arienti on show for Marca Corona per l'Arte
This year’s artist is Stefano Arienti, who narrated the excellence and identity of Marca Corona with a choral work created in cooperation with the company’s employees.
With the exhibition Opera Aperta – Open Work, curated by Maria Vittoria Baravelli, the artist created a narrative path of experimentation with apparently distant materials and universes. Unpublished works created on dust-proof industrial tarpaulins, together with a selection of objects that tell the story of the district, usually kept in Galleria Marca Corona, will communicate with the architecture of the theatre. The result is a museum-like exhibition in a setting that exudes the intimacy and atmosphere of a former sacred place.
Arienti’s works will be open to the public on Saturday 3 February from 10 a.m. to midnight and Sunday 4 February from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Cantiere Futuro: Arte, Architettura e Intelligenza Artificiale, frontiere e limiti della rivoluzione digitale in atto (Future Construction Site: Art, Architecture and Artificial Intelligence, frontiers and limits of the ongoing digital revolution)
On Friday, 2 February 2024 from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., the Theatre San Leonardo will also host the second event of Cantiere Futuro, the event promoted by Marca Corona to offer the world of architecture and design a place to meet and reflect on the new frontiers of design. Participation in the meeting grants three training credits.
In recent years, Artificial Intelligence (AI) has emerged as a disruptive force in several areas, and its impact on architecture and art makes no exception. This day of study deepens the dynamic and transformation role that AI plays and will play in shaping the fields of architecture and art. The study explores how AI can unleash new forms of creativity and the intersection of technology, creativity and innovation. It analyses both the applications of AI in architecture and art as well as the profound ethical, social and economic consequences of its use.
