Premio Marca Corona supports contemporary artistic research and promotes the development of new talent. The company has long engaged in a profound dialogue with creativity.
Over the course of our long history, at Marca Corona we have launched multiple collaborations with various artists, pioneering new stylistic trends and influencing the language of ceramic production.
Premio Marca Corona
for young artists and
designers under 35
The competition aims to support emerging visual art and the development of young talent, future custodians of an ancient material like ceramic. Entry is free, a different topic is explored every year, and an expert jury decides on the winners.
The winner will receive a cash prize and an artistic residence in the company, during which they will be able to create a ceramic project together with the Marca Corona research and development department.
A project focused on new talent
The aim of Premio Marca Corona is to promote young artists and designers through a competition that invites them to investigate specific topics, transforming them into new and original works. Another of the goals is to bring two diametrically opposed worlds face to face: the art world which works on the idea of the unique piece, and the world of industry which, conversely, works on the idea of replicability. This meeting aims to challenge the limits on both sides in order to create new ideas.
Every chosen project is the result of a free, personal and contemporary interpretation. The works are then produced by the company under the creative direction of the artist, in a process that synchronises creative vision with manufacturing expertise.
Contemporary art
in the company spaces
Premio Marca Corona is a cultural project that brings together past and future, manufacturing and research, enterprise and artistic sensibility. The works are displayed in the company spaces.
Year after year, the award helps enrich the stylistic and cultural trajectory that has accompanied the history of Marca Corona for almost three centuries.

The winners of past editions
Digitale (Digital), 2026
The jury appreciated the ability of the work to transform a basic and unique symbol - the fingerprint - into a visual metaphor for cooperation. The project combines manual expertise, body and the collective, producing a harmonious image that dialogues with the ceramic tradition and the human value of shared work.
Digitale is inspired by a simple and universal symbol: the fingerprint. Barchitta transforms it into a visual system consisting of repeated impressions that combine with each other, overlap and form a collective pattern. Close up, it is material, contact, body. From further away it becomes structure, rhythm, relationships.
The work embodies the topic of the year, exploring the idea of cooperation: every element maintains its identity but only acquires meaning as part of the whole.
Winner Premio Marca Corona 2024-2025 2025-2026
Presenze intermittenti (Intermittent presences), 2025
This work is born from an enquiring exploration into the community and the company’s past, created using archive materials and historical references. Gnata employs the technique of stratification: he recovers images and transforms them into simple motifs that are then repeated, broken down and rearranged.
The result is a modular system in which the figure is multiplied without ever becoming identical to itself. The concept of “unique multiple” comes into play here: every element forms part of a structure but maintains a degree of variation, a margin, a difference.
It is in this tension between the individual and the collective that the work meets the competition brief for the year. The relational dimension emerges in both the method - which dialogues with the processes of the company and the work of Andrea Mastrovito - and the final image, where the repetition creates a shared rhythm without annulling the individual presences.

Winner Premio Marca Corona 2023-2024
Tutti giù per terra (We all fall down), 2023
The work consists of a dense and stratified surface made up of various symbols, forms and colours that inhabit the same space. The elements accumulate, overlap and are distributed against a neutral background.
The project interprets the theme of the year: every element loses its individual importance to become part of a more extensive system. The “motherland” therefore becomes a shared space that gathers the colours in an enveloping embrace, rejecting the idea of the individual for the benefit of the community.

L’alleanza tra abitanti e costruttori (The alliance between inhabitants and constructors), 2024
Alberti develops the project from an in-depth study of the history and context of Marca Corona, considering both historiographical and relational aspects.
The work takes the form of a modular visual system in which technical and structural elements are repeated and organised to create a continuous, almost architectural surface. The result conveys the idea of an organism made up of relations, in which every part contributes to the functioning of the whole.
Alberti interprets the topic of the year by focusing on the relationship between those who construct and those who inhabit: a dynamic balance between design and use, life and structure.
